About the author

Fran Pope, pictured center, is an author, musician, and community advocate for historic preservation and the arts. She plays violin in two community orchestras, cello and violin in an informal chamber group and enjoys riding her Morgan horse, Zin. She retired as reference librarian from King County Library System in 2020.

Contributing author, Elizabeth Maupin, left, is seeking ordination and has been a longtime advocate for the homeless. Contributing author Susan Hass,right, has expertise in planning and is an accomplished artist focusing on nature.
